The marketer's role in managing website content
In June 2006, Malcolm McIlhagga was invited to present at the Online Marketing Show, London, in the Content Management session.
He talked about how marketers fit into the process of building a new corporate website
and the issues they face in the selection of a website content management system.
Issues including Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), compliance and ensuring
brand consistency.
Primarily the talk introduced a model for understanding the different work streams involved in a corporate website development or rebuild and on the tasks and responsibilities of different roles; paying particular attention to that of the marketer.
