Website usability services
The principles of usability apply to many of the projects we undertake, irrespective of their size. We give usability the focused attention that it deserves from the outset, because we recognise that it is key to the long-term success of the project.
We place a high value on usability, building user profiling and usability testing into our project process from the outset. Before designing the visuals for a website interface we first model the site’s structure, content and navigation to make sure that all users can achieve their goals and feel that their visit has been a positive experience. Sigmer's design team are expert at communicating effectively with the client, interpreting their design brief and delivering a design that is implementable and meets expectations.
Our production methods are based on the clear separation of content and presentation using XHTML and CSS, benefiting both accessibility and usability.

Website accessibility services
We have proven expertise in accessible website design and support the World Wide Web Consortium's (W3C) Web Accessibility Initiative (WAI). We have designed websites to the highest level of accessibility - Priority Level 3 - for several high profile clients, and we can offer accessibility audit reports.
Sigmer has a proven track record for producing website designs that are visually impressive whilst conforming to high levels of accessibility as defined by the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0. To validate accessibility we use both automated validators, such as Bobby and A-Prompt, as well as manual checks for those checkpoints which cannot be tested automatically.
Sigmer has much experience of designing and developing sites with high levels of accessibility and has developed a symbiotic approach to design and accessibility. All of our websites and those of our clients comply with at least Conformance Level “A” defined by the W3C's Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and Sigmer has designed and deployed sites that are accessible to WAI AAA level.

Sigmer has considerable experience of search engine optimisation (SEO) techniques and structure the design and development of websites with this in mind.
Scribe CMS helps to support high levels of accessibility and is able to produce a site that is easy for the search engines to spider, ensuring effective SEO - in fact a highly accessible site is actually more search engine friendly.
Scribe CMS is exceptionally proficient in these areas and enables all areas of a website to be managed - including those that search engines pay particular attention to, such as visible page content, linking between pages, meta tags and title tags. It is used by a number of clients for whom the highest level of accessibility - Priority Level AAA - and SEO are paramount - such as The International Save the Children Alliance and the British Red Cross, RNID and RNIB Community Equipment Consortium.
